Ready to take on the agBOT Challenge?? We challenge anyone: individuals, students, researchers, teams, universities, entrepreneurs, farmers etc. to submit a proposal for agBOT Challenge 2018! In an effort to drive innovation in the agtech field, we are hosting a third year to include a repeat of the Weed & Feed Competition and a new Harvest Competition. Through the agBOT Challenge program we will be advancing artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques in the agtech market via competitions, workshops and sprints.
WEED & FEED COMPETITION: The Weed and Feed Competition challenges teams to create an autonomous machine capable of navigating a corn field to identify the corn crop and weeds. Upon identification of the corn plant, the machine should determine if the plant is healthy or in distress, requiring fertilizer to be applied by the machine. Upon identification of a weed, the machine should eradicate the weed chemically and/or mechanically. Teams may use a variety of solutions, combining elements of solutions in different markets and/or creating innovative solutions designed for their machine.
HARVEST COMPETITION: The Harvest Competition challenges teams to create an autonomous machine capable of navigating a field and identifying watermelons ready for harvest. Upon identifying the watermelon, the machine will perform a series of measurements to determine the ripeness of the melon such as color, size, and weight of the melon. Teams may use a variety of solutions, combining elements of solutions in different markets and/or creating innovative solutions designed for their machine.
